Fr. Altier's Daily Homilies

Living according to the Spirit of God requires a deeper conversion, moving beyond mere belief to a life ordered towards truth, goodness, and morality. This involves overcoming sin, embracing the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, etc.), and living charitably towards others. True freedom lies in living according to the Spirit, free from the slavery of sin. Fr. Altier is a Priest at Holy Trinity Parish in South St. Paul: https://holytrinitysspmn.org You can also find Fr. The anniversary of the Miracle at Fatima is significant as it commemorates the appearance of Our Lady, who demonstrated the truth of her messages to the children. She also appeared at Akita, reiterating her message due to disobedience, warning of fire from the sky and internal strife within the church hierarchy. Despite approval from the Cardinal Archbishop of Tokyo, efforts have been made to suppress the message of Akita. The message emphasizes the importance of staying faithful to the Catholic Church and Our Lady during a time of apostasy and turmoil. It warns of a coming mass apostasy from the top of the Church, but reassures us that Our Lady is in control and will guide us through this difficult period. The message encourages prayer, fidelity, and trust in Our Lady, St. Joseph, and the angels. Fr. The new covenant, as described by St. Paul, offers freedom from the slavery of sin and the opportunity to live according to the will of God. This freedom, however, comes with responsibility and requires a choice between living in the truth and love of God and neighbor, or succumbing to the selfishness and slavery of sin and Satan. The question posed is whether we truly desire this freedom and are willing to accept the gift of salvation offered by Jesus Christ. Fr. The gospel reading likens the kingdom of heaven to a wedding feast, where God is the king, and Jesus is the groom. The invitation is not to be a guest but to be the bride, symbolizing a spiritual union with Christ through love and fidelity. This union, prefigured by the Eucharist, is a profound privilege and responsibility that requires a commitment to love and faithfulness to God. Fr. Fr. Altier emphasizes the importance of priests preaching and living for Jesus Christ, rather than seeking popularity or being distracted by worldly things. He challenges us to examine our own lives, asking if Jesus is truly the center and if our actions and words reflect our love for Him. Fr. Altier stresses that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ and that a genuine love for Him should be evident in one’s life. Fr. Papal infallibility does not mean the pope is perfect or immune to error. It only applies to formal proclamations of dogma regarding faith and morals, made with the intention of teaching the entire church. While the pope is a sinner and can make mistakes, the grace of the papacy allows him to speak infallibly when necessary. Fr. The gospel reading emphasizes the importance of being spiritually prepared for the Lord’s arrival, likening it to the readiness of the Jews during Passover. Just as they were prepared to leave at any moment, we should keep our souls ready and free from spiritual clutter, always prepared to welcome the Lord. This readiness is not for the Lord’s sake, but for our own, as it allows us to receive Him fully and experience His blessings. Fr. Fr. Altier criticizes the “gospel of nice” and other false gospels prevalent in the church and society. He emphasizes the importance of conforming oneself to the true gospel of Jesus Christ, which is unchanging and the only means of salvation. The speaker warns against altering the gospel to fit personal preferences, asserting that the truth, though sometimes difficult, is essential for freedom and eternal salvation. Fr.
